Becoming Catholic - OCIA / RICA
Adults interested in learning more about our Catholic faith may register in our adult initiation program, known as the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) or Ritual de la Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos (RICA). After participating, candidates who want to join the Catholic Church may celebrate the Sacraments of Initiation at our Easter Vigil liturgy.

Parishioners serve as sponsors to support catechumens (those enrolled in OCIA/RICA) through their journey of faith by sharing their own faith experiences and being available to discuss questions. Parishioners might also adopt a catechumen by praying for that person regularly throughout their faith journey. Catechists (teachers) share their understanding of topics such as prayer, scripture, Church history, sacraments, Christian morality and social ministry.
